Question: What provision of the Constitution can aid in the promotion of competition?
Our next characteristic of a market economy that is promoted by the Constitution is Competition. Competition is when buyers and sellers are able to enter and leave a market. Buyers and sellers are independent of one another. One economic unit is not allowed to control the market in its favor.
Congress has pointed to Article I, Section 8 of the Constitution in justifying Anti-trust laws and regulating against unfair practices in the marketplace.
