A Constitution Tidbit:  In their wisdom, and because of their unpleasant relationship with King George III, the Founders wrote into our Constitution, Article I, Section 9, “No Title of Nobility shall be granted by the United States: And no Person holding any Office of Profit or Trust under them, shall, without the consent of Congress, accept of any present, Emolument, Office, or Title, of any kind whatever, from any King, Prince, or foreign State.” ¶ Article II, Section 1 specifies the Oath the President will take upon entering office as: “I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my Ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States.” These words in the Constitution have never been modified. Question: Can anyone mistake how the Founders felt about kings and/or titles for America’s leaders?
