Quoting Abraham Lincoln: When asked in June 1863, just before the Battle of Gettysburg, whether he, Lincoln, felt the nation could survive. Lincoln answered: "I do not doubt that our country will finally come through safe and undivided. But do not misunderstand me ... I do not rely on the patriotism of our people ... the bravery and devotion of the boys in blue ... (or) the loyalty and skill of our generals. ¶ But the God of our fathers, Who raised up this country to be the refuge and asylum of the oppressed and downtrodden of all nations, will not let it perish now. I may not live to see it ... I do not expect to see it, but God will bring us through safe." Question: How many of our leaders today, if asked this same question, would give a similar answer?

The National Center for Constitutional Studies (www.nccs.net) needs your financial help to help us here in Georgia do something pretty spectacular – in fact never before done – the sending of the BYU produced DVD “A More Perfect Union” to every school in Georgia to help them comply with a new Federal Law .108-447.

With other donations NCCS has purchased 100,000 copies of this DVD that tells the real story of how the Constitution of the United States was crafted during the summer of 1787 and signed on September 17, 1787 – by 39 “wise men.” It also shows how three other wise and courageous men, by refusing to sign the Constitution that day were able to cause the creation and adoption of America’s Bill of Rights on December 15, 1791.

NCCS needs only the cost of postage (.27 cents) to mail a “Constitutional Packet” to each school in Georgia. This “Packet” includes one copy each of the DVD, and the Pocket Constitution/Declaration of Independence, plus instructions on how to download the teacher’s guide to use the packet to comply with Public Law 108-447. All Georgia schools must comply with this law, signed by President Bush in December 2004. This law requires every institution receiving federal aid (all schools), must show material to their students regarding the Constitution of the United States during the week of September 17 each year. This packet will provide the material to comply with this law.

I am asking you to make a small contribution, an amount you will feel comfortable with, to this very worthy cause? Your donation will be tax deductible.

There are two ways to make your contribution.

  1. Call toll free 1-800-388-4512 and charge it on your credit card - like now, or
  2. Write a check to NCCS and mail it to “NCCS, 37777 W. Juniper, Malta, Idaho 83342-9707
Thank you . . .
